WHAT would you like to see fly at next year’s Bournemouth Air Festival?

Following the announcement the Red Arrows will not be appearing at next year’s event, we’re inviting readers to give us their suggestions on which aircraft they would like to see added to the line-up.

Just for fun, the Bournemouth Echo has set up a poll of some of the suggestions that have been most mentioned on social media.

Each year, Air Festival organisers put in bids for a number of European and civilian aircraft, however, it depends on what will be within air space at the time of the event.

Speaking to the Daily Echo yesterday, Air Festival director Jon Weaver said they would be putting in bids for the Eurofighter Typhoon and F-16 jets as well as historic aircraft for next year.

He said there was a "strong" possibility the Typhoon could make a comeback.

On Sunday, Air Festival organisers confirmed the Red Arrows will embark on a nine-week tour of north American next summer and would not be part of the 2019 event.

It will be the aerobatic team's first major tour of the US and Canada in more than 25 years.

It is expected to generate £2.5 billion in investment for Britain.

The 2019 Bournemouth Air Festival will take place between Thursday, August 29, and Sunday, September 1.
