RAIL passengers are facing disruption this morning between Bournemouth and Poole.

Train services may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

The disruption is due to an earlier points problem which was reported at 5.38am.

It is expected to last until around 9am.

A spokesperson for National Rail said: “We were informed that there were axle counter failures and a points problem in the Bournemouth area.

“This meant that trains were unable to leave the depot to start their journey this morning.

They added: “The faults have now been fixed by Network Rail, however, there are now delays due to trains being late from the depot.

“In order to minimise further delays it may be necessary to make short notice alterations to some train schedules.”
