A DEMENTIA garden has opened to support patients at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.

The project, funded by Bournemouth Hospital Charity recently, was recently opened at the facility.

One of the hospital's courtyard areas has been transformed into a space designed for patients with dementia to enjoy.

Liverpool Victoria made one of the largest donations to the petal garden. Jonathan Sells sculpted a wooden sculpture resembling the company's heart logo, which sits in one corner of the garden.

Janine Pattison Studios created the garden designs with the dementia patients in mind.

Debbie Anderson, the head of fundraising at Bournemouth Hospital Charity, said: “It is really great to see the garden come together after all of the wonderful fundraising efforts of our supporters. We’d like to thank them for all of their hard work, Janine Pattison Studios for all their time spent bringing the garden to life, and to Liverpool Victoria for their large donation to the project.”
