HUNDREDS of runners took on the Studland Stampede on Sunday, a tough 12km off road race.
The event, now in its 14th year, took place over the heathland and sandy beaches of Studland Bay.
It started and finished from the beach, where a number of supporters cheered the runners on.
An event spokesman explained: "The route offers stunning views of Old Harry Rocks, Brownsea Island and the Isle of Wight.
"Runners of all abilities enjoy the race but it does require an amount of determination and grit to get through the final tough sandy miles."
The Studland Stampede is the last event of the Purbeck Trail Series, which is made up of six separate races including the Purbeck Marathon and the Lulworth Castle 10km.
Runners entering any of the races automatically score points for the Purbeck Trial Series.
Top four results count and prizes are up[ for grabs.
