THE DARKNESS caused by cancer and other serious disease will be symbolically banished in Bournemouth next month with a fireworks display and light event.
Light Up The Prom 2018 will see people paying £5 to dedicate a light to the memory of a loved one, two minutes of silent reflection in the presence of the lights then a dazzling fireworks display on Friday November 9. Musical entertainment will also be provided by The Funky Little Choir.
The event is being run by Bournemouth Hospital Charity and Macmillan Caring Locally.
Bournemouth Hospital Charity Events Officer, Karen Smith, said the event would be 'a beautiful way to remember special people'. “No matter if you’re young or old, we invite you to commemorate and celebrate those who are no longer with us during this wonderful event.”
Light Up the Prom is sponsored by HG Walker Solicitors and Pains Fireworks, and anyone wishing to dedicate a £5 light can do so by calling 01202 704060 or online at bhcharity.org/light-up.
