DORSET brewer Hall & Woodhouse has launched its new chef apprenticeship programme in partnership with Bournemouth & Poole College.

Students will learn the skills needed to work in the brewer's pubs across the south, including The Grasshopper in Poole and the Olive Branch in Wimborne.

Apprentices will undertake training in block release at the college to gain experience of food preparation and cooking activities, as well as learning how to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic working environment.

Dean Livesey, Director of HR at Hall & Woodhouse, said: "We believe this apprenticeship programme provides a pathway to an exciting and rewarding career in the hospitality sector. Our apprentices will have the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification whilst gaining valuable on the job experience.

"As a family business it is important to us to provide career opportunities for young people within our communities and this scheme is just one example of our ongoing commitment to this.”

If you are interested in applying for the Hall & Woodhouse apprenticeship programme starting in September 2019 please email the college on handw@bpc.ac.uk or call 01202 205500.
