A 40-YEAR-OLD man died after getting into difficulty while swimming in a lake in Hungary, an inquest heard.
Martin Balson of Wimborne Road, Kinson, Bournemouth was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragedy on August 25, Assistant Dorset coroner Brendan Allen heard.
The Bournemouth inquest heard that Mr Balson, who was married to Nicola, got into difficulty during a trip to the Budapest area.
A lifeboat was launched and he was pulled, unresponsive, from the water.
A post mortem examination carried out in Bournemouth revealed Mr Balson died of asphyxia due to drowning. Inquiries are now being carried out by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
The inquest was adjourned until March 20.
