FORECASTERS have lifted a weather warning for Sunday - days after two fundraising events were cancelled to accommodate the prediction.

As reported, the Margaret Green Animal Rescue was due to hold its country fayre at Church Knowle on Sunday. It is the second major fundraising event the charity has had to postpone this year after August's heatwave cancelled a family fun day and dog show.

Bournemouth's first Memory Walk organised by the Alzheimer's Society was also postponed. It will now take place on Saturday, October 13.

The Met Office had issued a yellow warning for high winds and heavy rain 6am on Sunday until just before midnight.

Members of the public were told there was a small chance the winds could cause injuries and danger to life from flying debris and large waves.

Travel disruption was also a possibility, it was said.

But on Saturday, the warning was cancelled. Although heavy rain is expected between 9am and 11am, this should die off, with a sunny evening likely.

Next week is expected to be dry and settled with spells of sunshine.
