FIREFIGHTERS are hosting a coffee morning this Saturday at Christchurch fire station, raising awareness and money for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.
For the second year in a row, the team are opening the station doors to members of the public from 10.00am to 12:30pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to look around the station and the appliances, get a better understanding of the role the crews play within their community and raise funds for the local charity.
Watch Manager Matt Kiddell said: “We are hosting the event to help raise awareness and money for people with cancer. We are always there for our communities in an emergency and it would be great to engage with them over a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake.
“Dorset Cancer Care Foundation is a local charity for local people who are experiencing financial hardship because of cancer and we’re really pleased to be able to support them again this year.”
Businesses are invited to support the event by delivering cakes to the Fairmile Road station prior to the event.
