A MAN who walked 100km for his aunt who has Motor Neurone Disease has raised more than £1,800.

Rob Towler, 41, from Poole, travelled from Putney Bridge to Henley-on-Thames last weekend in just under 26 hours.

He decided to take part in the Thames Path Challenge for his aunt who was diagnosed with Progressive Bulbar Palsy (PBP) in July 2017.

Rob said: “I had a few wobbles around the 80 to 90k marks where I considered dropping out, so I did have to have a word with myself a few times as my feet were dragging along the floor. The final 4k towards Henley (which I could see in the distance) was a killer and seemed to last forever.”

During the walk, Rob completed 139,000 steps and has so far raised £1,850 on behalf of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
