BOURNEMOUTH has won gold at the coveted South and South East Britain in Bloom Awards.
Twenty people from the town's parks team and Bournemouth in Bloom travelled to the awards ceremony in Brighton, to triumph in the large coastal town category.
There were 400 people who attended the event.
Revd Christopher Colledge, chairman of Bournemouth in Bloom, said: "Please remember that hundreds of volunteers give their time to make Bournemouth the horticultural place of excellence it is and respected throughout the UK.
"Our excellent parks team together with Bournemouth in Bloom and community groups work together as a team, which is something everyone in Bournemouth borough should be proud of.
"Bournemouth now looks forward to the Britain in Bloom awards ceremony in Belfast in October.
