A TRAMPOLINE park in Ferndown shocked customers after closing suddenly on Tuesday.

Activate Indoor Trampoline Park, based at Ferndown Industrial Estate, said in a statement posted to Facebook: “With great sadness we announce that Activate and Unit 65 will close its doors today.

“We would like to thank all our hardworking and dedicated team of staff who have made Activate a friendly attraction for families.

“To our loyal customers, we appreciate your support over the past two years.”

The news came as a big surprise to customers, especially as the park was still inviting bookings just a few hours before the announcement, it was said.

A number of people who made bookings for birthday parties have been left disappointed and out of pocket.

One man said a “very upset” 12-year-old who had a party booked for Tuesday arrived at the park to find the doors closed.

“Others trying to gain access too. Sad for the staff but very wrong not to be contacted,” the man said in a Facebook comment to the park.

The park later said staff would be “available to answer any customer questions regarding bookings via email” until the end of the week at fun@activatetrampolinepark.co.uk.

The Daily Echo was unable to contact the park on its telephone number on Tuesday. Its website has also been taken down.

The centre, which featured over 50 trampolines, had only been open since 2016.

The facility featured a free jump area, tumble track, angled trampolines, designated area for Parkour and free running, airbag, dodgeball court, and soft play area.
