PRESUMABLY there will be another Red Arrows display soon over the town.

Doubtless folks will think it a demonstration of British might?

Truly, though, it can't be emphasised enough we are not a great nation and have not been since 1945. We cannot even defend ourselves.

The Red Arrows circus is a mere pinprick compared with the world super power that confronts us in the East.

We have just slapped our European friends in the face. That they should make things awkward for us is no surprise.

We are not 50 per cent European, we are 100 per cent European.

Europe is a world power or could become so and our best bet is to be part of it and part of a united European defensive force under unified command.

The whole Brexit thing was ill-considered and misguided.

I believe the people, including 16-18 year olds, whose future it is after all, should be re-canvassed in order to clear these self-made obstacles and put Britain back on a strong and sensible track.
