A PREGNANT cow had to be put down after a hit-and-run in the New Forest.
The incident happened on the B3079 at Bramshaw near The Bell Inn and Bramshaw Golf Club on Friday night.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire Police roads team said: “Poor animal left for dead and ultimately put down. Driver did not have the decency/humanity to remain at scene.”
The vehicle involved is believed to be Ford Connect van.
The crash was reported to police at 9.58pm.
