POOLE RNLI lifeboat crew were called to a variety of incidents on Saturday.

While out on patrol, the lifeboat was called to search for a carrier just before midday.

A person had blocked their radio, meaning no-one else could communicate.

The crew managed to track the position of the radio and advise the users to turn off their radio.

They were then sent with Mudeford Lifeboat to help a 16ft motorboat with three people on-board which had broken down.

One of the people on board was suffering with sea sickness.

A spokesperson for Poole RNLI said: "There was a slight chop in Poole Bay with a southerly wind, but due to the vast amount of vessels all jockeying for a good viewing position, there was quite a bit of wash, around the exclusion zone."

The casualty was taken aboard the Mudeford vessel and transferred to Bournemouth Pier, while Poole lifeboat towed the boat back to North Haven inside the harbour.

They were then sent to reports of a fire on a boat 20metres off Old Harry Rocks.

This was confirmed by a search and rescue helicopter which was on passage.

After an extensive unsuccessful search, one crew aboard a boat moored in the area admitted having had a barbecue on deck.

It was put down as a call with good intent.
