WHEN the sun goes down the fun doesn’t stop at Bournemouth Air Festival as Night Air comes alive. With dazzling displays, fireworks and music, the event promises to be a feast for all the senses.

Following a short break after the daytime flying, there will be dusk displays on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

One of the highlights is set to be The Breitling Jet Team, who will be making their Air Festival debut, and will perform on the Saturday night.

The team have not displayed at a UK civilian air show for nearly 15 years and never on the south coast of England.

In another first, the FireFlies and Twister Pair combo will be joining forces to put on a sparkling performance across all three nights equipped with pyrotechnics.

Otto The Helicopter will also be lighting up the skies once again. Daredevil pilot Brendan O’Brien will be in the cockpit for the display which sees the helicopter fitted with the most pyrotechnics an aircraft has ever had. He will be performing across all three nights. Brendan will fire more than 2,000 shots during his show.

The Jet Suit Display Team will also be forming part of this year’s Night Air line-up and will be doing two dusk performances as well as two daytime displays.

Gravity Industries founder and chief test pilot Richard Browning will be joined by Dr Angelo Grubisic as they demonstrate human flight along Bournemouth seafront after setting off from the Pier in a spectacle that is set to attract thousands of onlookers.

The skies will also be illuminated by not one but two firework displays from Bournemouth Pier on Friday and Saturday night at 10pm.

For families, there will be entertainment in the Lower Gardens from 6pm with face painting, birds of prey demonstrations, circus workshops, balloon modelling, stilt walking and more.

The Royal Marines will also be on hand to demonstrate their unarmed combat in the Lower Gardens and East Overcliff, plus the HM RM Band Portsmouth will be performing a Beat Retreat Sunset Ceremony.

Music fans will be able to enjoy a host of tribute acts across the three nights including UK Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder Tribute Band and U2 2 at the Main Stage which can be found at Pier Approach.
