LAST week I took my grandson to King's Park so he could ride around the homemade go kart powered by an old golf trolley.
I noticed a gentleman on a mobility scooter with a dayglow 'over vest' with the Bournemouth services logo and volunteer worker embossed on the front.
I stopped to have a chat with him and in conversation he told me how he goes around the parks and surrounding areas picking up litter left by able-bodied people, who are often young.
Talk about turning the world upside down. Here is a guy unable to walk any distance clearing up after lazy, able-bodied individuals. I thanked him for doing what he does but I came away thinking how useful it would be if some of the culprits where aware that a disabled guy went about picking up their litter.
Maybe one or two might go around with him and learn some valuable lessons.
