A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after police were called to a 'disturbance' in Wareham.

Officers were called to Mill Lane at around 9.20pm on Wednesday. Police then found a 15-year-old boy receiving medical treatment for a small puncture wound to his leg in Abbot's Quay.

The boy was taken to hospital for further treatment.

Another 15-year-old boy suffered facial injuries. He was also taken to hospital.

Detective Sergeant Tom Hall, of Dorset Police, said a third 15-year-old was arrested and is helping officers with their investigation.

Officers are trawling CCTV footage and visiting houses in the area, he said.

Neighbourhood Inspector Andy Keel, of Purbeck police, said: “I understand this incident will cause some concern among the local community in Wareham but I would like to reassure residents that a detailed investigation is underway into what happened.

“Local officers will also be carrying out high visibility patrols in the town and can be approached with any concerns."
