CONCERNED residents are set to meet this evening to discuss proposals to earmark land in Ferndown for hundreds of new homes.
Details in the review of East Dorset District Council's Local Plan include several sites in Longham to provide at least 580 homes, with up to 1,500 being possible.
The land in question includes at and opposite Dudsbury Golf Course, west of Holmwood Park, off Angel Lane and at Longham.
A meeting for residents takes place at the Bluebird Social Club in Longham from 5pm to 8pm this evening.
Ferndown town councillors will be joined by representatives of the Longham and Hampreston ward at the meeting.
The Local Plan sets out the council's policy for housing, transport and other key issues in the community.
A public consultation on the options document closes on Monday, September 3 and submissions can be made at www.dorsetforyou.gov.uk/planning/christchurch-east-dorset-local-plan-review, by emailing planningpolicy@christchurchandeastdorset.gov.uk or writing to Planning Policy, Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership, Civic Offices, Bridge Street, Christchurch, BH23 1AZ.
