WELL over two months ago, a glass alcohol bottle was smashed in the dropside kerb-way along a side road near Bournemouth's rail station. As a mobility scooter user I tried hard to avoid it hoping that soon it would be cleaned up by our street cleaners.

This never occurred and the glass became chippings that spread far and wide over the whole area. Invariably so, I soon got a puncture even though trying to avoid that area. This cost me great expense and inconvenience.

I emailed the council over my complaint and put in a claim. I received a 'ten-day automatic response'.

Now almost two months from my first complaint in early July, the said area has not yet been cleaned up despite receiving an email from the council that they will early attend to this 'hazard'. I can easily see that this area has not been attended to at all because even today there is much discarded rubbish: including cigarette butts still lying forlorn within that whole area.

Within that area of Holdenhurst Road there used to be a street cleaner. I got to know him and often shared some banter. I have not seen him for over three months.

Is this cutbacks in Bournemouth that will only attend to the main areas and simply allow all other areas outside go (literally), to waste.
