Today marks the main day of Weymouth Carnival.
Here are the road closures and parking restrictions ahead of tonight's procession.
Road closures
The Esplanade will be closed between King Street and Custom House Quay in both directions from 4.30pm until 8.30pm.
The Esplanade between Custom House Quay and Pavilion Car Park will also be closed in both directions from5.15pm to 8.30pm.
Between 5.15pm and 8.30pm, the following roads will be closed in both directions:
* Preston Beach Road between Overcombe Corner and Greenhill
* Greenhill
* The Esplanade between Greenhill and Custom House Quay
* Dorchester Road between Greenhill and Carlton Road South
* Westerhall gyratory
* Melcombe Avenue
* William Street
* Lennox Steet between Greenhill and Victoria Street
*Astrid Way
As a result, there will be no access to The Esplanade from Gloucester Street, Westham Road, New Street, Bond Street, East Street or St. Alban Street.
The roads affected will reopen as close to 8.30pm as possible, but will not do so until it is deemed safe to. Diversion routes for affected traffic will be signed.
As a result of the road closures, the following measures on other roads will take affect:
Custom House Quay – the one-way system will be suspended
Gloucester Mews – the one-way system will be suspended
East Street between Mitchell Street and Market Street – the one-way system will be suspended
St. Thomas Street – a temporary taxi rank will be introduced at Coburg Place
Parking restrictions
Parking places will not be available between 2.00am and 8.30pm (or until roads reopen) on:
* the west side of The Esplanade between; the Royal Hotel and Gloucester Street, and St Mary Street and East Street
* the seaward side of Alexandra Gardens
* the east side of The Esplanade, between (opposite) New Street and (opposite) East Street
Parking places will remain open at the Pier Bandstand and along Brunswick Terrace, however access will be limited when road closures are in force.
A vehicle tow-away will be in operation.
Permit holders
Holders of permits for zones A, C, F and H can park in the following off-street car parks free of charge, subject to availability of spaces and between the times shown:
* Pavilion Car Park and Swannery Car Park until 8am tomorrow - Thursday, August 16.
* Melcombe Regis Car Park and Park Street Car Park between 6pm today (15) and 8am tomorrow - Thursday, August 16.
