THERE will be brute force, team work and sheer determination on display when the Dorset Plane Pull returns for its 10th year later this month.

The event takes place at Bournemouth Airport on Monday, August 27, from 10am.

The Dorset Plane Pull, hosted by European Skybus, sees teams of 20 people attempt to pull a 35,000kg Boeing 737 airliner a distance of 50 meters in the fastest time.

Since the event started in 2009, it has raised more than £130,000 for local and national charities.

Organisers are hoping to reach the £150,000 mark this year.

Charities set to benefit this year include Amelia’s Rainbow, Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, The Isabel Baker Foundation, Julia’s House, Macmillan Caring Locally and The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.

One of the teams set to compete this year is Parkinson’s UK and the charity is seeking people to lend a hand.
