THE organisers of Dorset Business Awards have extended the deadline, citing demand from busy business people keen to enter.

Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry says summer events such as the World Cup and Wimbledon, along with extra holidays taken in the heatwave, were also factors in extending entries until midnight on Thursday, August 9.

The awards, in association with the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, have 13 categories recognising achievements of businesses, individuals and teams.

The categories for 2018 are: Business Leader, Dorset Environmental Business, Exporting Excellence, Outstanding Customer Service, TeamJobs Team of the Year, Sunseeker International Developing Talent Award, Young Apprentice Ambassador, Creative Impact, Employee Health and Wellbeing, Lester Aldridge Company of the Year, PKF Francis Clark Family Business Award, ScaleUp for Business Growth Award and UK Health Insurance Investing in Dorset Award.

Stuart Dixon, head of marketing communications at Dorset Chamber, said: “The number of businesses in the region hoping to win this year’s Dorset Business Awards has prompted the decision to extend the entry deadline. “We want as many businesses as possible to throw their hat into the ring and have the chance to compete in Dorset’s premier business awards.”

Businesses of all sizes, which are based in Dorset or with a BH/DT postcode, can enter for free at dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk, whether chamber members or not.
