STEAM enthusiasts gathered at Poole Quay to show off their engines and raise money for charity at the same time.
Lucky passers-by were given the chance to take a ride free of charge as part of the Mini Steam on the Quay event.
The event was organised by Richard Harvey, in conjunction with Poole Tourism.
He told the Daily Echo: "We are not part of an official club but are a group of enthusiasts. We meet at Poole Quay every New Year's Day to parade the engines and dust the cobwebs off them and one year someone from Poole Tourism suggested we organise an event later in the year.
"This is the ninth year we have held it in May and people have come from all over Dorset, Hampshire,Wiltshire and Somerset."
Around 30 engines were in action at the event, held on Saturday, and a collection and donations raised nearly £400 for CLIC Sargent, which supports children with cancer and leukaemia.
