TWO major festivals are gearing up for a return to Dorset within the next couple of weeks - and the highways authority has now released a list of traffic management measures that will be put in place to deal with the increased volume of visitors.

Camp Bestival and Bestival will take place at East Lulworth from, respectively, Thursday, July 26, to Sunday, July 29, and Thursday, August 2, to Sunday, August 5.

Restrictions and temporary measures will be in place on roads in the vicinity, Dorset County Council has announced.

These include:

  • Eastbound one-way system on Whiteway Road and the military bypass in East Lulworth

  • Temporary speed limit of 20 mph in East Lulworth

  • Temporary speed limit of 40 mph between Botany Farm and East Lulworth

  • Temporary speed limit of 40 mph between Burngate junction and the military bypass

  • No parking in Coombe Keynes

  • Prohibition of pedestrian movement between Burngate junction and Lulworth Castle

  • Southbound one-way system on New Buildings Road between Burton Cross and B3071 (between 7am Thursday, July 26, and 5pm Sunday, July 29; and between 7am Thursday, August 2, and 5pm Sunday, August 5)

  • Northbound one-way system on New Buildings Road between Burton Cross and B3071 (between 5pm Sunday, July 29, and 5pm Monday, July 30; and between 5pm Sunday, August 5, and 5pm Monday, August 6)

  • No parking in Wool between Breach Field and High Street Close (between 7am and 7pm Thursday, August 2, Friday, August 3, and Monday, August 6)
