THOUSANDS of visitors will be flocking to the New Forest this week for the annual country show.

The New Forest and Hampshire County Show, more commonly known as The New Forest Show, is now in its 87th year.

Here's everything you need to know about this year's event...

When does it take place?

The 2018 show takes place on July 24, 25, 26.

Opening times?

The showground will be open from 8am to 6.30pm on all three days.

Where does it take place?

The Showground, New Park, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7QH.

Main Attractions: International Show Jumping Competitions, The Grand Display of Livestock, Pony Club Mounted Games and the Heavy Horse Musical Drive. The New Forest Show is the only place you will have the opportunity to see 16 pairs of heavy horses take part in this unique spectacle.

New For 2018: A traditional baking show, a sports zone and an improved countryside area. There will also be the Atkinson Stunt Display where horses and riders will put on a show each day.

There will be also be a Local Business Village showcasing products and services from small businesses across Hampshire and Dorset and a brand new sports zone featuring interactive activities and workshops.

The New Forest and Hampshire Show sees more than 600 trade stands take their wares and fares to Brockenhurst each year, selling a wide variety of different products and services. There are also usually workshops, cattle milking demos and animals, including rabbits, birds, poultry, and cattle.

Food & Drink: The Garden Tearoom is back in 2018 by popular demand after its introduction last year. There's also plenty of catering vans serving up noodles, burgers and more. Foodies will enjoy the Traditional Bakery, the brand new addition to the popular Local Produce Market where visitors will be taught the art of Flour Milling and making bakery products including a demonstration on Speciality Breads for the Dinner Table.

Top local chefs will also be preparing delicious dishes and providing visitors with plenty of culinary inspiration in the local produce market’s cooking demonstration theatre.

There’s also a picnic area, if you want to bring your own lunch and a range of beer tents run by Ringwood Brewery.

Cost: Tickets are available on the gate at £21 (adult) and £20 (senior citizen). Children aged 15 & under will be admitted free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
