A MAN sustained "potentially life-changing" injuries in Bournemouth town centre after the World Cup on Wednesday night.

Police are investigating the scene at the rear of the multi-storey car park in Glen Fern Road after reports a man had been found with serious injuries. It is understood he had been in town to watch the football.

The incident was reported to police around 10.55pm yesterday.

A small area on the entrance ramp to the car park is cordoned off.

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital.

A close relative told the Daily Echo he had suffered multiple skull fractures and a broken elbow, hand and knee cap.

It is believed he fell from the car park.

"He doesn't remember how he fell. Police are reviewing the CCTV in the car park," the relative said.

"He needs two operations but might not get the full use of his arm back."
