THREE post offices across the conurbation remain “temporarily” closed.

The Christchurch branch in Saxon Square, West Hill branch on Commercial Road in Bournemouth and Longfleet branch in the Dolphin Centre, Poole, have all been closed since Tuesday, June 19.

Hiren Modi, postmaster of Christchurch Post Office, previously said the service was out of action due to “computer issues” that would be resolved on Wednesday.

However, the branch has remained out of action.

“We understand and appreciate how much communities rely on our services and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Christchurch, West Hill and Longfleet, which have been temporary closed since June 19,” the Post Office said. “We would like to reassure customers that the decision to suspend services at any of our branches is never taken lightly, and we will only do so when it is warranted.”

“We are committed to providing a Post Office in these areas and we are looking to see how we can restore Post Office services to the area as soon as possible.”

The Post Office advised alternative branches for Christchurch are Stourvale and Purewell Cross, while nearby alternative branches for West Hill are Westbourne, Lansdowne and Bournemouth and alternatives for Longfleet are Poole and Oakdale.
