FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a heath fire in Christchurch this afternoon.
Dorset Fire Control was alerted to the blaze at around 2pm and three fire engines, a water carrier and a Land Rover pump were dispatched to the scene.
Crews are still battling the blaze, as of 2.40pm, which has been estimated to cover an area of around 60 metres squared, marked by a plume of smoke over St Catherine’s Hill.
