A STOLEN car was destroyed by fire in Christchurch in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Police received a call from the fire service reporting a burnt-out vehicle under Iford Bridge at 4.09am.
One crew from Christchurch attended and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Dorset Police said: “Enquiries were made with the registered keeper of the vehicle and it was established that the car, a white Ford Escort, had been stolen from their address in the Burton area.
“Officers are continuing to investigate this incident. No arrests have been made at this stage.”
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said a tree was also destroyed in the blaze.
