THERE'S a bumper crop of events taking place across Dorset this weekend. Here's our guide to just some of what's on.

1. Poole Harbour Boat Show runs from Friday to Sunday between 10am and 6pm, at Poole Quay Boat Haven. The weekend feature more than 200 exhibitors, on-water activities, live music and activities for all ages.

2. Burton Armed Forces and Veterans Day will be held on Sunday. The event, which is in its 11th year, is set to feature a flypast from one of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Spitfire aircraft at 1.09pm. The day runs from 1pm to 6pm at Burton Village Green.

3. Wimborne Minster Folk Festival starts tonight and runs until Sunday. There will be music, dancing, comedy, workshops and more for all ages. The procession takes place on Saturday at 2.30pm.

4. Hundreds of people will take part in Bournemouth's Race For Life returns on Sunday. The 5k event is due to start at 11am.

5. See some of the world’s most prestigious super cars at the Christchurch Super Car Show 2018 on Sunday. The event will feature a Ferrari Enzo, McLaren P1 and the McLaren Formula 1 show car. There will be a rev-up on the High Street, before the cars remain on show for the public to view from 11am to 3pm.

6. The Chilli and Cheese Festival returns to Christchurch this weekend. This year's two-day event on the site next to Hurn Equestrian Centre and will feature more chillies and cheeses will be on offer than in previous years. Entry is free for children.

7. The Great Wildlife Exploration takes place at Hengistbury Head this weekend. The free family-friendly event will see guided walks from leading wildlife experts.

8. Families will have the chance to become a wildlife explorer for the day when a BioBlitz takes place at Stanpit Marsh in Christchurch between 10am on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.

9. Visitors to Corfe Castle will be given the opportunity to meet its birds of prey this weekend. There will be bird displays from 10am to 5pm, with two flying demonstrations held each day.

10. Meet World Cup mascot Zabivaka at Poole's Dolphin Shopping Centre on Saturday. There will be two penalty shoot-outs on Saturday, the first at 12.30-1pm and the second at 1.30-2pm.

11. The Fortitudo Property Poole Bay 100 Offshore Powerboat race comes to Salterns Marina in Poole this weekend. The first of the two races begin at 12pm on Sunday and race two for Class 3 boats fires into life at 12.15pm.
