Bournemouth West Railway Station pictured here in early 1965 was opened in 1874 and linked to Bournemouth Central Station 14 years later. After a tremendous fight by the public the station was withdrawn and the last passenger service ran on Sunday September 5 1965. The building stood empty from then to 1970 when the it was demolished.
