ELVIS is in the building! Well, actually there are three in the building tonight and two of them are Ultimate Elvis world champions no less.

Shawn Klush from Pennsylvania and Dean Z from Missouri have both risen to the top of their game and are now travelling the world together putting on the Elvis World Tour.

Joining them is Ben Thompson from London who is a European champion and veteran performer in his own right.

First up is Dean Z who is introduced as the most energetic performer you will ever see and he soon proved to be exactly that.

Covering the era of a younger Elvis he captured the mood and era perfectly with a flawless delivery of the songs that made Elvis famous.

Dressed in a gold jacket, black shirt and shoes wielding an Epiphone guitar like a weapon he blew the crowd away, particularly during a frantic version of Bossa Nova Baby.

As soon as the guitar vanished the front of the crowd turned into a queue of people hoping for a scarf or a kiss from ‘Elvis’. None of them left disappointed!

This was a crowd-pleasing performance from someone who clearly loves what he is doing and manages to transfer that energy to the crowd.

As soon as Dean left the stage, Ben Thompson took up where he left off and continued to entrance the crowd with a flawless performance of slightly later Elvis numbers.

The voice and movement took you back to your youth when Elvis was at the peak of his fame.

After a twenty-minute break it was time for Shawn Klush, the most successful Elvis tribute the world has ever seen. Portraying what is affectionately known as Jump-Suit Elvis, he performed some of the biggest Elvis songs that are still covered the world over to this day. Once again the performance was flawless and showed why he has achieved the status that he has. The crowd in a packed Lighthouse loved every second of it and would have stayed all night but all too soon the famous refrain “Elvis has left the building” rang out and it was time to go home.

This was a flawless night of entertainment that made me look on-line to see where the rest of the tour was headed to see if I could catch it again. Perfect.
