After arriving Friday night to put our tent up in the rain we did say a little prayer that Saturday would arrive bright and sunny to welcome people to the Off The Beaten Track Festival.
In its third year this small one-day gathering is a mix of music, camper vans and friends with the aim of supplying a bit of fun, community and raising some funds for local charities.
Fortunately for everyone the day did stay bright and rain free allowing people to enjoy the outdoors, listening to music and relaxing by their vans.
Set on East Farm farm there was plenty to eat and drink supplied by the farms shop and burger wagon with people also enjoying picnics in the camping field.
Sticking to previous years aim of providing a variety of music to suit a wide range of people there were four acts on during the day each supplying something different.
The afternoon started with local singer/songwriter Lili White followed by Rapport from Bere Regis, local lad Chris Henderson and Off Topic who had travelled from Kent to play the festival.
The music varied in pace and volume from mellow covers of Tom Jones to the pounding rock of AC/DC and just about everything in-between.
The evening was rounded off with a couple of brilliant sets by Off Topic who have everything they need to go on and achieve great things.
This is a group of seriously talented musicians and a singer with a cracking voice who delivered a variety of covers including everything from Radiohead, The Artic Monkeys, Queen, Led Zeppelin, rocked up Beatles and their own numbers that did not sound out of place among that set list.
Another successful day ended with a magnificent sunset as people enjoyed the music before returning to the campsite to carry on the festivities.
The day met all of its intended aims of bringing the community together to meet like-minded people, relax and raise some money for charity.
