A HOST of fun events are set to take place across Dorset this bank holiday weekend. Here are just some of them...

1. Gin and tonic lovers will want to head to Bournemouth for the third annual Gin Festival on Friday and Saturday. The event has previously been held at the Pavilion Ballroom, but this year takes place at the BIC for the first time and will see an increased capacity with more bars and brands on offer than ever before.

2. Welsh rockers, Feeder, and Northern Irish band, Ash, take to the stage in North Dorset for the sixth annual Teddy Rocks Festival. The three-day music festival, which takes place at Charisworth Farm near Blandford, will also see performances from The Magic Numbers, Eliza & the Bear and InMe.

3. Saxons and Vikings will do battle in Purbeck when the Siege of Wareham battle re-enactment returns to the beautiful setting of Corfe Castle between Saturday and Monday.

4. Bransgore's annual village fun day takes place at the recreation ground from 1pm on Monday. There will be a dog show, dance performances, classic cars, stalls and live music from Christchurch and Highcliffe Brass Band.

5. Hundreds of people will take part in the Oakhaven Colour Run at Brockenhurst College on Sunday. Runners will walk, jog or run around a 4k course while being showered in coloured paint.

6. A celebration of all things food comes to Castlepoint Shopping Park on Monday. Dorset Living Day will see chefs Matt Budden and Luke Matthews cook up a storm outside Marks and Spencer between 10am and 4pm.

7. Strictly fans should hotfoot it to the Marsham Court Hotel for a charity ballroom event to raise money for Cancer Research on Saturday.

8. The popular Blandford Georgian Fayre returns on bank holiday Monday between 10am and 5pm. There will be re-enactments, a farmers' market, a classic car show, fire juggling, a fun fair and more.

9. Wimborne Model Town will be hosting a railway weekend between Saturday and Monday. Visitors will be able to enjoy a ride on a 100ft garden railway.

10. A free beach party takes place at WestBeach on bank holiday Monday between 1pm and 9pm.
