A PLANNING application for AFC Bournemouth's new stadium could be submitted later this year.

The club say they want to speak with supporters to gain a "full understanding" of what they want to see for their new stadium.

In a statement on the progress made so far, AFC Bournemouth said market research firm Stadimax were appointed last year and have been in contact with corporate clients, season ticket holders and Cherries Priority Points holders.

The statement added: "The club are continuing to work with Bournemouth Borough Council’s sports and recreation development manager, who is providing advice and information ahead of a planning application being submitted.

"The club and council are also working together on the details of a Planning Performance Agreement, which sets out how both parties will approach the various stages of the application process, required consultation, resources to be allocated and timescale."
