CHURCH Knowle and Steeple residents are being encouraged to have their say on future housing in their villages.

Purbeck District Council (PDC) will be sending a survey to all households in the area this month.

PDC housing portfolio holder Cllr Laura Miller said: “Many communities are concerned because local people need to move elsewhere to find suitable housing.

“Young and old alike are forced to move away from their family and friends because rents and house prices have soared in rural areas making it impossible for them to stay.

“The results of the survey may lead to a small development of affordable houses in Church Knowle or Steeple for local people, so if you live in the villages please help by completing the Housing Needs Survey.”

The survey should be returned before February 23.
