A MAN died after being hit by a train at Parkstone railway station in Poole last night.
Police were called to the station in Ashley Cross at 7pm on Wednesday evening.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Parkstone rail station, Poole, following reports of a person struck by a train.
"The call came into police at 7pm on Wednesday, 24 January.
"Officers attended the scene alongside paramedics, sadly a 72-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The man’s family have been informed of his death. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
Dorset Police were also called to the incident.
