T.REXTASY were formed in 1992 by Danielz and quickly went from playing pubs to touring the world with most of the Glam Rock greats. After proving themselves over the years they became the world's only officially recognised tribute to Marc Bolan. A further ten years on and here they are touring in the year that would have been Marc’s seventieth birthday, keeping the music alive in the best way possible.

The evening was split into two sets with the first half slightly more mellow but with a sprinkling of the bigger, rockier hits to keep everyone happy. Sailors of the Highway, an acoustic version of Cosmic Dancer and Dreamy Lady with its great mid-song tempo change were high points for me as they are not songs you would normally hear on the radio.

The second set was definitely more lively with the crowd well and truly warmed up.

Dandy in The Underworld, Ride a White Swan and all of the rest of the hits went down a storm, mainly due to the near perfect delivery by Danielz who has this down to a T.

The last time I saw these guys it prompted me to go out and buy T-Rex greatest hits on vinyl, and this time around the show has made me want to explore that back catalogue a bit more to dig out some of the lesser known songs covered tonight.

It was a great gig and the perfect way to keep the music of Marc Bolan alive. He should have been around for much longer than he was but at least we have a band of the quality of T-Rextasy to enjoy.
