THE Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ is coming to two Bournemouth venues this festive season.

An original adaptation by the play’s director, Rachael Cheeseman, is being brought to two venues in the town by Arena Theatre.

The seasonal run begins at the atmospheric Russell-Cotes Museum before heading to Winton’s Bournemouth Little Theatre for four nights.

‘A Christmas Carol’ will be Arena’s 100th production and is set to be an evening of festive cheer for the whole family.

“A Christmas Carol has been a favourite of mine since childhood and I decided to adapt it for the stage so that I could capture the spirit of the story while ensuring it is ideal entertainment for all ages," Ms Cheeseman said.

"I think it’s perfect that we should celebrate Arena’s 100th show with a classic production that will help us introduce some new audience members to the theatre.”

Arena Theatre was founded in 1983 and originally based in the Bournemouth Centre for Community Arts in Boscombe.

The production of Charles Dickens' 1843 work comes to the Russell-Cotes Museum on Saturday December 9, before performances at Bournemouth Little Theatre between Wednesday 20 Saturday December 23.

All the shows start at 7.30pm, with tickets available at £10 and £8 for concessions.
