A 62-YEAR-OLD widower who died after being struck by a train at Hinton Admiral station has been named as Phillip James Perkins.
Mr Perkins, an administration assistant who lived at Avenue Road in Christchurch, died following the collision on Sunday October 1, a Bournemouth inquest heard.
Dorset coroner Rachael Griffin was told a post mortem examination revealed he died of multiple injuries due to impact by train.
Mr Perkins was formally identified by a representative from the British Transport Police using fingerprint evidence.
The inquest heard Mr Perkins was married to Susan but is now a widower. Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
The inquest was adjourned for further inquiries and will resume on May 21 next year.
