FOUR-LEGGED friends can join in the fun thanks to the introduction of their own beer and ice cream at a Dorset pub.

Dogs can tuck in to Old Sock or Carrot Crunch flavour ice cream before washing it down with a bottle of the revoltingly-named Bottom Sniffer beer.

The additions to the menu are going down a treat at the Angel Inn in Longham.

Now bosses have got some Pawsecco on order, to be available soon in white or rose.

Manager Heidi McLaughlin told the Daily Echo: "We started selling it on Good Friday and we were amazed at the great reception we got.

"The dogs loved it and the owners seemed really pleased that they could buy something special for their dogs while they enjoyed their own food and drink."

The so-called ice creams are actually low fat yoghurt and the Old Sock flavour is created with sweet potato and cheese.

They even have a "flake" -a bone-shaped cheese biscuit - and cost £2.50 for a tub.

The "beer" is herbal infused water, "like herbal tea for dogs" said Heidi, and costs £3 per bottle. The two flavours of Pawsecco will be fruity herbal drinks.

Heidi's own dog, Scout, a Chihuahua/Jack Russell cross, is a fan of Old Sock ice cream.

"He did the taste test for us and loved the Old Sock - he kept pushing the Carrot Crunch away with his foot. I think it's the cheese he likes" added Heidi.

Heidi said she hopes dogs will enjoy their trip to the Angel Inn as much as their owners.
