DORSET’S first chocolate kebab house has finally opened its doors in Bournemouth.
Rather than a lump of meat rotating on a skewer, customers are greeted with the sight of a large slab of white and milk chocolate.
MyShake, a milkshake and smoothie bar in Winton, is the first place in the county to serve the ‘Choco Kebab’.
Described as a warm crepe-like pancake, the Choco Kebab is filled with shavings of Italian white and milk chocolate, chocolate sauce and a range of toppings such as fresh fruit, nuts and whipped cream.
The idea of MyShake began with local businesswoman Meryem Kircal: “Personally, I like treats myself,” she explained.
“I just wanted to offer something different to what I’m doing now, a treat that makes everyone happy and to create a chill out place that people and their families will enjoy”.
Alongside the Choco Kebab, MyShake in Cardigan Road will also offer custom-made milkshakes, fresh fruit and veggie smoothies and frozen yoghurt.
The first 100 customers through the door at the official launch last weekend received a free milkshake which is already generating plenty of positive feedback and five star reviews on social media.
“The best milkshake I have ever had”, writes one Facebook user, “The kids absolutely loved it”.
“They’ve got a chocolate kebab, madness!” one user writes to his friends on MyShake’s Instagram post. “Save one for me!!”
n The state-of-the-art Choco Kebab Machine holds the Cremino Piemontese chocolate cylinder, kept at the perfect temperature to maintain freshness and consistency.
The pancake is made with quality ingredients using the Choco Pita machine. Slices of the creamy chocolate are taken from the cylinder and stuffed into the crepe-like pancake.
You can then choose from an array of toppings like fresh fruit, caramel and whipped cream.
A Choco Kebab costs £3.95.
The UK’s first Choco-Kebab shop opened in Swansea, Wales in 2016.
