Welsh rappers Goldie Lookin Chain bounced into Mr Kyps on Saturday night with a set list that drew heavily on their greatest hits and high-energy antics.

Throughout they jumped around the stage half-singing, half-shouting their comically explicit rap texts; which sat well with the crowd.

Certainly not to everyone’s taste and far from family-friendly (despite a few younger faces in the audience) the show went down well with a good turnout.

GLC, adorned in their classic attire of tracksuits, caps and thick, golden chains reminisced about the antics of their youth, their questionable relationships and their hometown of Newport.

After an hour of enthusiastic rapping, the guys took a breather but kept the banter going backstage, claiming a massive costume change to hype up the audience for the encore.

Upon their return, Rhys appeared wearing an uncharacteristic blazer, which he only kept on for about 15 seconds, unsurprisingly.

With a new lease of life, they cranked the energy up with fan favourite and top ten hit Guns Don’t Kill People Rappers Do, which had the crowd jumping and shouting along.

The set ended with a drum and bass mix of Your Missus Is a Nutter and their most notorious song, the one about your mother… Safe!
