IT’S incredible to think that it’s very nearly been a year since the popular bar and live venue Canvas threw open its doors.

Now an essential fixture on the Bournemouth nightlife scene, the last 12 months have seen a who’s who of top acts, live events and a host of international DJ’s.

Major artists have included James Morrison, Blackstreet and Incognito to name but a few.

To celebrate, Canvas is throwing a First Birthday Members Party on October 21 with complimentary prosecco between 8-10pm and live music from London band The Guilty Pleasures from 10pm.

Canvas owner James Maidment told the Bournemouth Daily Echo: “What a first year it’s been! We’ve managed to pack some incredible talent from all over the world into our tiny live lounge and there’s no sign of it slowing down. We’re bringing plenty more talent to town in 2017 as artists and managers are now realising us as a south coast stop on their UK tour routing.”

James added: “Internally the team is doing great things behind the bar. Our third bar now holds over 50 gins and launches soon with a fantastic new bespoke menu. As we move into winter the venue really gears up for a stacked Christmas schedule and one of the most stylish Black Tie NYE offerings in town.”
