IT might only just be autumn, but the cast of this year’s Pavilion panto are already in high spirits.

After 2015’s record-breaking pantomime the venue is delighted to present Cinderella (December 3 - January 2).

With its enchanting story, side-splitting comedy, thrilling special effects and adorable miniature ponies, it is perfect entertainment for the forthcoming festive season. This traditional production will feature an all-star cast including Dani Harmer, Rhydian Roberts and Melanie Walters.

Dani Harmer will play the beautiful Cinderella who is treated as a servant by her jealous ugly stepsisters. Dani is probably best known as CBBC’s Tracey Beaker and as a contestant on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2012. Speaking to the Bournemouth Daily Echo, Dani said: “You need good songs and a good cast for a successful panto and I think we have that. I’ve also worked with Rhydian before in the touring version of The Rocky Horror Show.”

X Factor 2007 runner up Rhydian Roberts appeared at the Pavilion earlier this year in The Little Shop of Horrors and is looking forward to returning as Prince Charming: “I’m so delighted to be back in Bournemouth, although Prince Charming is a difficult role to play and there’s plenty of action. We’ve also got great sets and Dani is very funny.”

Welsh actress Melanie Walters will bring a touch of magic as the Fairy Godmother. Best known as Gwen from the much-loved BBC comedy series Gavin and Stacey: “We have a fabulous cast that tells the story in a traditional way, which makes it the perfect introduction for children to the theatre,” says Melanie.
