FOLLOWING success at the 2014 Dorset Business Awards, past award winner the Training Room has joined the prestigious sponsor roster for this year’s awards campaign.

The Training Room is a careers provider in the leisure, beauty and IT sectors and has introduced the Emerging Business Award to the 2016 Dorset Business Awards in association with the Daily Echo and Dorset Echo, organised by Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Open to enterprises with up to 250 employees, this award recognises the role small companies play towards the continuing growth and vitality of Dorset.

Entrants should demonstrate strong growth and a record of increased sales, profit and/or employment over three years.

Submissions will be reviewed by an independent panel and a site visit will be made to shortlisted entrants.

Entrants should include:

Description of growth strategy and targets to date.

Examples of how leadership and employee engagement has contributed to growth.

Details of financial growth over past three years.

Details of business and finance software or solutions used to aid growth strategy.

Details of any major changes within the business as a result of the growth strategy and what further changes are planned.

Simon Hurst, commercial director at the Training Room, said: “We are proud to be a sponsor in this year’s Dorset Business Awards and to be introducing the Emerging Business category. The purpose of the award is to acknowledge the role small businesses play towards supporting the economic growth of the county.

“As a past Dorset Business Award winner ourselves we completely understand the benefits of winning such a prestigious accolade and since winning two years ago we’ve increased the breadth of our training to now including, beauty therapy, and IT. Entering the awards offers great recognition for a team, as well as a brilliant night out.”

He added: “It is now an honour to be on the other side of the competition and join the award category sponsor line-up to find a winner.”

Entries can be submitted via dorsetbusinessawards.co.uk and the deadline is September 9. Entrants do not need to be a member of Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
