Police confirm 'bomb' was a security training device - Man United clash rescheduled for Tuesday

  • Manchester United v AFC Bournemouth game abandoned after suspicious package found.
  • It is believed a phone was found attached to a pipe.
  • Two stands at Old Trafford were evacuated shortly before the match was due to kick off.
  • At around 2.40pm an announcement was made for security personnel to invoke "operation red code" and it soon became evident fans were leaving the South Stand and Stretford End.
  • A controlled explosion has been carried out in the stadium by bomb disposal experts.
  • The match has been rescheduled for Tuesday night (8pm).
