SINGER-SONGWRITER Stacey Leighann will take centre stage at an event to raise awareness of child sex abuse.

She and her agent Amelia McCloskey have planned a day of song and talk to raise money for charities Dorset Mind and Acts Fast.

It will be held at St Aldhelm’s Academy in Herbert Avenue, Poole on Friday March 12 and the £12 ticket price includes speakers, musicians and a three-course meal.

Stacey’s new single, House of Cards, draws on her experiences of child abuse and the event will be presented by Dr Andrew Mayers, a specialist in mental health and psychologist at Bournemouth University.

It runs from 11am-3pm and tickets are available from ticketsource.co.uk/event/120361. Attendees must be over 16 years of age and qualified counsellors will be in hand throughout the event to give support if needed.
