Westbourne Library will be celebrating its 100th birthday this year and they are looking for the borrower who has been using the library the longest, any ex- staff and anyone with memories of the library.
The Mayor of Bournemouth, Henry Robson, opened the newly built library in May 1916 on a portion of Wilton House garden in Alum Chine Road. The council were given £2000 by Andrew Carnegie to provide four libraries locally.
Over the years it has been altered, modernised and extended and was given a listed status in 1976.
